J.K. Rowling is an inspiration. When her sixth book came out, I was expecting that I had grown too mature for her books. But I was pleasantly surprised that I was still drawn back into her story of a wizard in training. This is my favorite book so far out of her epic tale.

In this book, we learn everything about Voldemort and his past. We learn about his rise to evil and how he was able to come back after being destroyed. We learn more about the prophesy that describes how "one must die in order for the other to live." A new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is a great shock to Harry and the entire student body! Dumbledore has assigned Harry to secret meetings with him, but why? Harry does everything he can to stop Voldemort's return, but will it be enough? Amongst all this, Harry finds his true love.

This very complex story kept me interested from start to end. I really appreciate how Rowling's writing has grown progressively more mature for older readers. This tale is no longer a children's story. It has transformed into an amazing epic legend that tells the story between good and evil. A myraid of themes are in each book, but especially this one. Younger readers will appreciate the tale alone. Older audiences will appreciate the lack of predictablity and complexities of each character.

I highly recommend this book to fans! If you haven't read the Harry Potter books before, I would suggest starting with book one: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Only then can you truly appreciate the Half-Blood Prince's ingenius plot.

J.K Rowling spark his idea of the continues of his gallery of Harry Potter series in this book. The book of the "wizard boy" is now becomae the selection of the Top Book by common readers.
This book tell us on how J.K rowling express his imagination of the existence of a young boy who had magic power.

This book also tell us the present of Severus Snape in the Story that always be Harry's enemy that came from pure blood. The person that most loyal to Dumbledore, kill Dumbledore in the present of Harry at the scene. This increase the hateness of Harry to Severus that always become his common enemy. This book also tell us about the Ruler of Darkness lead by Voldemort control the Hogwad after the fall of Dumbledore.

In the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series, the story seems to take a very darker tone then many of the previous books with the exception of Order of the Phoenix. The book starts off with a search for a new teacher by the name of Horace Slughorn. Slughorn then goes on to teach potions, where Harry finds the mysterious book that was owned by the titles surname the half blood prince. Harry uses this book to the fullest extent until he finds the unexplained answer of who the book really belongs to.

Another character with a big role is Harry’s mentor Albus Dumbledore, their relationship through the many twists of the story will keep you waiting for more. Dumbledore is perhaps even more of a key figure in this book then Harry Potter, as you will come to the conclusion by the very end.

The role Dumbledore has played in Harry's life ever since Harry’s great discovery in the first installment of the series has been monumental. As a character in this book states Harry is Dumbledore’s man through in through.
Harry never knew a father, when his godfather died in the Order of the Phoenix, Harry found solace with Dumbledore as his father figure. This relationship grows throughout the book, and the end leaves you wishing one of their latest adventures had more purpose.

The dark side of the force, or Voldemort and the Death Eaters, many mysteries involving them are revealed. This book is easily the most informative on Voldemort’s past then any other book in the Harry Potter series.

Why cant Voldemort and Harry ever find peace while the other is Alive? What made Voldemort this horribly grotesque demonic figure? What is this man’s true heritage? When did he start to become obsessed with power? All this and more is explained, but how everything connects to the chosen prophecy and how it relates to Harry are the key things to remember throughout each and every memory sequence.

This book is one of the most inspirational books to come out in quite sometime. It shows while friends can get you to places you once thought unfathomable to get to, it is you and only you who holds the final fateful key to your own destiny.
When you realize this it is like a right of passage, a passage which our heroe finds out when everything that is important in his life, everything that ever meant anything to him is taken away, the only person who can get everything back, and once more find peace within your heart is yourself.

Like every other teen I was swept away by Harry Potter when I randomly purchased book one at a local book store, I think at the time people where just beginning to read the book, because I swear that as soon as i finished that first book I started seeing Harry Potter every ware! It was a good series in the beginning and I anticipated the next book just as badly as the next person, and you know I WAS the biggest HP fan out there ;) (so I believed). But I have to admit that when I got my hands on the "Half Blood Prince" and finished reading it, I was a little disappointed, don't get me wrong, I still believe that J.K. Rowling is a great writer, but after so many books with the same plot, it just started to get old, the only book that I was truly surprised at the end was "Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban," it was the ONLY book that he didn't actually have to fight the dark lord. I know you going to say, Umm ok its the whole point of the story is to fight him, but I believe that she could have made it less foreseeable oh Harrys every intent.

J.K. Rowling is an insparation to all youths to be what they can be. this book is filled with a perfect mixture of action and romance, suspence and mystery. probobly one of her best books in the series, next to the fifth book. reading this book seems to remind me of the internal fight that takes place within every kid. that evil that threatens to take over and you just have to continue to fight. i think i have a perfect quote "life is a war, some battles you win some you lose. the trick is to continue to do what you do and pray for a good outcome."

i love this series and this book is just as good as the rets. Although there were some parts that just came out of no where and they basically gave away what was going to happen in the next one at the end.

J.K. Rowling started off well. I was entranced by the first book, but now it seems that her writing has slowly begun to diminish. It is true she could write anything now, and still make millions. We all know that Harry Potter is going to die in the next book. We all know that someone else will probably die as well. And the way she killed off Dumbledore, with him begging Snape of all people to help him, was dispicable in my opinion. Definately not her best work. At all.

When Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince came out, I was in Wal Mart buying it at 12:30am in the morning! Call me pathetic, but her books will do that too you. She is my favorite author. i cant stand the thought of having to wait for that last book to come out.

Some people think that the 4th book is the best but I still say that they get better, and that the 6th book is clearly the best one yet. It starts out with some great plot twists, and things really don't end up the way you expect them to. The only thing I found dissapointing is the fact that Harry didn't seem to become significantly more powerful throughout the book and also the fact that Dumbeldaur said that Harry has everything he needs already to survive. Apparently "Love" is all he needs which I find a little lame. Also, in case people don't want to know who it is, the Half-Blood Prince is my favorite character, mostly because of how little we know about him, and how powerful he has shown himself to be.

J.K. Rowling has done it again. Every book seems to get better and better. I picked up this book and couldnt stop reading it. Her writing has grown from book to book so readers young and old are able to enjoy its complex plot and unexplainable (and angering at times) events. There is a new twist in every book but there are so many in this one i dont know what will happen next. the ending leaves open so many possibilites that i am forced to believe all the story will never fit into the seventh and final installment of the harry potter series!

I give thi book a 10! a 100%. i have to admit this is the bestest! i really liked the end of the 1st chapter. Nothin about Snape really choked me at all cuz he made the Unbreakeble Vow and stuff. Dumbledores death was kinda early wasnt it? i was kinda choked at 1st, but well R.I.P to him. and what i cant get off my head is eho on earth is R.A.B. i am sure is someone we kno and will get us choked! i think Harry will die at the end i think if it happens it wont hurt, cuz i am used to all the dying stuff. i must confess.. JKR kills every person i most fancy in book. i almost cryed when Diggory died. then i didint believe Sirius died ( hes somewhere behind that veil) and when Dumbledore died i was like: couldnt she let this for the next book?
if yall want to talk bout it, just tag me!

I loved this book so much!! It was really good and it kept my attention. I don't think that Dumbledore is really dead and I think that Harry will go back to school for his 7th year. There were too many signs in the story that made it seem like they will both come back. Like when dumbledore told Malfoy that he could make it look like he was dead? Well, maybe that is what Dumbleodre is doing? He may have said that to malfoy while they were in the tower because he knew that harry was watching and he was trying to get harry to understand what he was about to do. Harry just hasn't realized it yet. I hope I am right because it would be really sad if Dumbledore is really dead and if harry doesn't come back.

I've read the others like 3 times ea. and they were awesome, this one was better than all of them put together, probably because its the newest one, but anyway , when Albus died(some say he really didn't die) I really was upset, man he was like one of my favoritist characters. I wonder if Harry will really return to Hogwarts next year , or will it start a whole new series with him hunting down hurexes( or whatever their called). Can't wait till book 7 will come out. And still waiting for movie 4 too come out also. Looks good.

the comapred to the other series was okay. the suspense level was very low. Rowling had me guessing the whole book who the half blood prince really is. I enjoy books that provide that kind of mind work. The charaters have really develop from the first book. Harry is much more determine not to be held down.

HBP was a very good book. Tears were rolling down my cheeks when this very important character dies. I can't wait for the seventh book I hope that it is as good as all the rest. I really want to know is if J.K. Rowling is going to contiune the story after they leave Hogwarts. It would be nice if she did because she could make a whole lot of money. When that old thing that killed the great one, made me so mad I just wanted to jump in the book and strangle him. I have had some tell me that he knew he was dieing anyway and told him to do it if the time came. But I don't know I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This book is great! It goes above and beyond my expectations for a mile! Its dramatic yet, it's not depressing. Unlike the last book it is a little less gloomy. Harry finally finds his true love and at the very end a very influential character dies. Over all best book so far of the series. J.K. Rowling has completely and utterly out done herself.

This book is by far the best in the series, narrowly beating Goblet of Fire! HBP is filled with lots of romance which is a nice change and PLENTY of humour! there were moments in which tears literaly rolled down my face from laughter. as well as these light moemtns however, there is a lot of dark times on a ccoutn of the fact that Lord Voldemort has risen and everyone knows it! Mystery fills the pages and sadness grips each and every one of us during the last few chapters when a much loved character is taken from the story forever. We also learn alot more about Voldemort's past. This book is very different from the usual HP books and visits CoS in alot of ways. I recomend this book to everyone as it has a bit of all genres. 100/10 for sure!

i think this was one of jks best books ever. it was understanding and very good. it was different than the past five books though. therre was more romance in this book than all five books put together. and a lot of couples hooking up also. all in all aside from dumbeldore dying it was a great book.

I agree with alot of people here. The 6th H.P. book was alot more confusing. I love J.K Rowlings books but I'm kind of getting upset that shes always killing off my favriote charactors. First it was Surius and now Dumboldor. (forgive me if i spelled either names wronge.) If she kills Lupin in the next book I'm really going to be sad. Yet I don't think that J.K Rowling can finish this series of books up with only one more book unless it is larger than the 5th one. This book was different than the other ones for in the others it always starts out so happy and in the begining of the book it made me so sad. Up until the 4th book I felt happy to read the books in the beginin (dont get me wronge I love to read the books) But in the fifth it was right after Digory died (agian forgive me if I spelled the name wronge) And now the sixth it is right after Surius died, soon (well most likly in a year) shes going to have the seventh one and its going to either be really sad in the begining or sad in the end. I think that she just might have a war between Harry and Voldemort in the end just to top it off and if not and she just leaves us hanging then she is no longer my favriote writer. (I dont think that she will do that) The whole Harry and Ginny thing kind of made me want to cry. Ginny has keep on loving Harry and finally Harry feels the same about her and then he dumps her. I understand why but it does suck that Rowling did that to poor little Ginny.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are different than the than the other H.P. books. It's more exciting and it's harder to put the book down.If you didn't read or understand the first five H.P. book then you wouldn't understand this this one.To tell the truth it was also confusing for me at first but the more i read it the more i understand it.It's also full of action, adventure, comedy and romance. And yeah, it's also true that it's not just for kids cause even adults will also cry after they read it.It was sad that dumbledore died and that Ginny and Harry broke up and that Bill got beaten by an not transfored werewolf.I have so many questions and i can't wait to read the seventh book. The infurus were also scary. After reading the part where infurus attacked Harry i couldn't stop looking behind me.That sounds crazy i know. And what happend to Dumledores phoenix?...Did it died to with Dumbledore and where are the other Hocruxes?.l..hehe...And I think J.K. Rowling is really good author.Keep up the good work Rowling!!

J. K.'s gone all out again making this one truely amazing book for anyone, any age, to read. My favorite Harry Potter book to this point has been "Prisoner of Azkaban", but with J. K. Rowling out-doing herself once again, I'm debating between "Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Half-Blood Prince". She's going to have a tough time topping this one.

===Spoiler Warning===
Killing off Dumbledore, was expected after J. K. hinted that one of the main characters would be killed off. But this has created a major hype for the next book as it leaves us with a curiousity of how Harry is going to manage without his number one mentor.

Personally I honestly didn't foresee Snape being the Half-Blood Prince and with Snape killing Dumbledore and joining the death-eaters at the end of the book, J. K. still leaves room to wonder what's up with him.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens little peep-holes to the next book - the last in the series. But in no way does it even give an idea of what to expect. One only needs to truely have patience for the next book to be released and to answer all our questions.

I think that this harry potter book has been the best so far.It contains so many secrets and details.I think that it was so amazingly written specially since this is one of the last books.J.K Rowling reveals so many things in this book, that helps us understand why so many terrible things have happened.I didnt like that the most important person to Harry has to die but i think that it was neccesary since in this last book Harry will have to face his destiny with no help from the people he has been leaning on.This last battle will have to be fought by Harry and Harry alone.I loved this book and hope that the ending is as promising as i hope it is.

Well.... Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince....
I have to admit that the book is really good! But I would say that the book is a bit depressing. I'm not saying that the book is not worth whilel but after reading all the other books it can be a little disapointing to some people. But in genural the book is lively, creative and totally engrossing! personaly i couldn't put the book down. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked fantasy. ^_^h

In this latest edition of the Harry Potter series Harry Potter and the Hafe Blood Prince many things happened. although it had its moments the book overall was a bit of a let down. with the death of one of the major charictures (i will not tell witch one although i will say he was past his peak) at the end of the book it created a dramatic setting for the end of the year. With the posability of hogwarts closeing the chances are very slim that harry will actualy return to school in the next year so although J.K.Rowling said 7 years 7 books the 6th leaves readers with there doughts

Truthfully, I think that book could have been better. Dumbledore should have not died, because in my opinoin he out a lot of light in the books. There were also to many new characters with big roles or minor roles in the book. Finally, it kind of annoys me that they're not going to go back to hogwarts the next book will be incomplete without there return.

First and for most i think that this book is good!! But i think she is towening down her books to make it to be easyer 4 them to make the movie. Any ways there are alot of thing that go on in this movie that alot of people have been expecting for a long tim elike Harry/Ginny.And we all know that someone was going to die but no one thought Snap would kill Dumbador. Shocing i tell u but also Harry go though alot in this in cluding the death. Also he is well be on his comming of age and is about to be come a man.In this last book harry says that he is not going to return to the school even if it does reopen. But is it tru?? No one knows but all in all this was my favorate book and i loved i. Also if u dont likw it screw u all thats all byez!

Eh...This book was ok. It confused me a little bit tho. Sometimes I think Rowling gets so into all the magic in the book that it soon becomes almost confusing or may be even bad. Its just a constent reminder to writers that not everyone will get wut they r writing and wut they r getting out from the book. But it was still pretty good!

I really likeds the sixth book. It was the best out of all of them. There were alot of twists also that made it exciting. I kinda knew that Harry and Ginny were going to get together but it was so cool when they finally did. It sucked when they broke up though. I also had no idea anything serious was going to happen to dumbledore. I don't really believe that dumbledore is dead though. Do you remember at the end of the book before he died? Dumbledore told malfoy that he can make it look like he was dead even though he was still alaive. Then he said They can'y kill you if you are already dead. I think this was one of the first hints that the author gave us telling us that he isn't truly dead. Obviously dumbledore had alot of people that are mad at him in the wozarding world. I hope I am right about all of this because it would be really depressing if dumbledores is really alive. Oh yeah and one more thing. In one of the other books the author explained what happened to a wizard when the avada kedavra curse is placed upon them. It stated that when you are hit by this curse you simply fall to the ground. If that is true then how is it that dumbledore was thrown into the air and flipped and then fell to the ground. I think maybe snape and dumbledore planned it to make it look like he was being hit by the edava kedavra curse.

This was my favorite book of all time. I read it the first time in 3 days. Then I read it 4 times afterward. Yeah I know it sounds pathetic, but it's so worth it. I hope Harry gets together with Hermione. I didn't really like him and Ginny together. I loved this book sooooooooooo much. Dumbledore being killed made the book. I never would've guessed it. I hope neither Harry, Ron, or Hermione go back to Hogwarts. I got the book on the 16th at midnight!
It's a great book for any booklover. IT'S THE BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ

I loved this book!!! it was so much more then any of the other books. At first i was really bored it started off slow but not as slow as the other books. I was very disappointed with the 5th book but this book really made reading the 5th worth it. Killing Dumbledore off was just horrible but it really made the book. It gave it that extra pazaz that it needed to send me over the edge. I also liked that J.K. made her villans human in this book. We finally get to see what made Voldemort Voldemort, and Malfoy crying in the bathroom was so sweet I felt so bad for him. Snape being a half blood and the prince!! never saw that coming. This book is dark, mysteries and sad but it is so powerful it really is worth reading. This book raises so many questions and really answers only a few but it is in my opion by far the best of the series. A MUST READ FOR ANY BOOKLOVER!!!!

This book started out pretty slow at first. It's a pretty choppy story if you ask me, compared to the other Harry Potter books. But the overall story was pretty good. Alot of the new characters were just thrown in there. Like first of all, my friend mention, Scrimgeour seemed to have just be put in there jsut so Snape could get the Defense Against the Dark Arts job so he wasn't much of a character. The book skipped around alot...since when did Bill and Fluer meet to get married and stuff? That was kinda wierd... After reading this book I was pretty mad that J.K. killed of Dumbledore so early in the series, I was honestly crying my eyes out for an half an hour lol. I thought she'd atleast make him last a while longer. Snape...wow, can't believe he did what he did. I'm furious really but it was pretty much expected of him. Harry had the right idea about him from the beginning and if Dumbledore would have cut off Snape from his first couple of mistakes then maybe all this wouldn't have happened. Harry and Ginny going out together, now that was so cute, but the book didn't talk much about their relationship or about them being together much so it didn't really add much to the book...Hermoine and Ron's relationship was bound to happen of course so that was no surprise. Overall I don't know, I liked the book but now that Dumbledore died I dont see the point in reading anymore...even tho I will lol. The next book better be real good to make up for this one lol...

Well its been a long enough wait for this book to finally be out! But trust me, its definately worth the long wait! So many unexpected twists! And a certain death that made me cry! *sobs*

It starts off like all the other books in the series, but there is sense that Harry is a lot older than he was before. You can feel his maturity coming through - which is something I don't know whether I was happy or sad about - that little Harry Potter is turning into Big Harry Potter.

Make sure you read it - it'll keep you guessing who the Half Blood Prince is! And trust me, I had NO idea whatsoever about who it was!!

Till then, Magic Rocks!

I thought that this book was not all that good compared to her others. I think one reason why it is not so good is because it is just a prelude to the 7th and final book. There were, however, a lot of things I did not expect to happen. I did not expect Snape to be the Half Blood Prince. Although, it makes sense now. I also knew that Dumbledore was going to die. It just had to happen so Harry could go on and defeat Voldermort on his own. I knew it had to be a matter of time till Harry ended up liking Ginny and Ron realized he and Hermione are good for each other. I think over all it was pretty good. I think by reading this book I can safely say that the last book will be pretty amazing. I sure hope it is anyway.

This was truely a tie over book. As with most storys there needs to be background info. This book gives that. A look into Lord Voldermort's past as well as another glimpse into Snapes. I finished the book within a few days of owning it. The snogging can get a little old. Glad to see a few characters hooked up and a few that are on there way. I'm really looking forward to book 7 and the great climax. Will both Harry and Lord Voldermort perish in a great duel? Will any of the characters come back from beyond the dead?

i bought the book the first day it came out. i went to two different stores to find it. i am over half way through the book. i haven't been able to read the rest so far cuz i have been very busy. but so far of what i have read of the book it is very good book but the first 2 chapters of the book is very boring and confusing to me. this so called prince in the books sounds very smart through. i wonder who it is. i wish j.k rowling wouldn't stop writting the books. she has one more coming out and then no more so sad. i think we need to know what happens after hogwarts. i don't like malfoy that much he is just too freaky to me sorry to say.

I went out and got the book the day it came out and noticed a few things before I started to read it there wasn't as many hints on the cover as to what may or may not happen in the books which was kind a disappointing since I always liked useing what was on the book cover to try and figure out what might happen in the story. I got to reading it and couldn't put it down till I was done then end was really shocking but it was also a bit expected since there had been a lot of tips through out that led up to it. I thought it was a really good book and would recemmend it to other.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was a very good read indeed. As with the other five books, I could hardly put this book down. It probably was not the best of the six books, but it was a very interesting and compelling book. I really enjoyed, for the first time with the Harry Potter Series, the fact that it showed that they were growing up. The love in the book played a great role in displaying the coming of age with Harry and the others. I did cry my eyes out at the end, and I'm sure almost every Harry Potter fan did the same. Though the ending was devastating, I am anxious to see what is to happen in the seventh book. It was a great read and i reccomend it to anyone.

I am still reading this book! But I have read the end because reading the end of a book doesn't ruin a book for me. But it is a really good book. I can't beleive that that this is a book that I can put down and I love the Harry Potter series.

I read this book in 2 days and it's been one of the 1st books that i actually couldn't put down. The main thing that stands out in this book is the emphesis on the charactors love lives, this made the book that lil bit more intersting. i think the 1st chapter could've been better but apart from that this is definatly one of the best books this year. I cant wait for the final book to come out. when i'd finished reading the book i felt like i wanted to read more as there were questions left unansered. A must have for every HP fan out there!

Definently not one of the better Harry Potter books. JK Rowlings writing seemed different in this book. I thought she didnt have enough foreshadowing. She kind of walked right into the story, without leaving a trail of events. Not my favorite of the six, but it has a very impressive story line.

I loved most of this book, although I thought the first few chapters were a bit dull and the story didn't really seem to start to develop or get going until around chapter three or four.

However, on a much better note I really enjoyed the book and would never have guessed that that person would die until it actually happened, and even after it happened I still couldn't quite believe it.

The story overall was really well written and well worth the wait. I would give this book 9/10 and recommend it to everyone of all ages.

Lets just say...wow.... where do I begin? I loved the pairings. I cried from ch 27 to the very end. I think there could have been SO much more detail but its probably beacuse JK had her baby around the same time and was unable to write as much as OotP. All in all it was great, if you havent read it yet you definately should.
